How long do I have to "break in" a new Honda?

New Honda vehicles are ready to drive off the lot. However, the first 200 to 600 miles are critical to allow your vehicle to settle in and run smoothly. It's important to avoid aggressive driving during this time and avoid hard starts, rapid acceleration, or rough braking.

How often do new Honda vehicles need maintenance?

Every vehicle has a factory-recommended maintenance found in the owner's manual. For new Honda vehicles, you can expect a routine maintenance appointment every 12 months or 7,500 miles, whichever comes first. New Honda vehicles have a Maintenance Minder alert system to let drivers know when it's time for maintenance based on their driving habits and the recommended schedule. The most common routine service is a regular oil change, and the Maintenance Minder system will keep tabs on oil levels and remind you when it's time for service.

Do I have to follow the recommendations from the Maintenance Minder?

The Honda Maintenance Minder is very accurate and takes into account your driving and real-time data on the status of your vehicle's critical functions. Following routine maintenance protects your vehicle from excess wear and tear and ensures your vehicle complies with warranty requirements. Not following routine maintenance can void the manufacturer's warranty, so it's important to follow the recommendations, at least during your warranty period.
